I think more users means more trust in someway for the newcomers
@mur2501 To some extent I agree, but only in certain ways.. Take Facebook as an example..they are huge. That instills some aspects of trust that are well earned to some extent.. Trust they will keep the server running, can handle heavy loads on the server, and deliver uptime that is acceptable for the average user. All of which is true for facebook.
However at the same time it seems to do nothing for instilling trust with regards to privacy or exploitation. In fact, larger servers tend to be more likely to exploit their user base as they have higher costs and more information to gain from. So in that regard they are trusted less so, not more.
I have a tendency to be straightforward and blunt regardless of what reactions I might get. For some that causes them to trust me more, for others maybe not. I'm ok with that.
As for who I'm asking... well.. everyone. It isnt a formal poll, just curious how common that line of thinking happens to be. Obviously I have a preference for large servers myself.
@freemo
That depends upon the privacy fear of the person. Many people don't scratch the skin just to protect privacy they just take basic precautions. Some want to protect the privacy at all costs so they are very picky.
Its a give and take between convenience and security.
