Some photos from when I got caught in the middle of a buffalo stampede in Yellowstone National Park. I was being kind of stupid and had time to run off before they got to me like everyone else but I was more focused on taking pictures than my life, which in retrospect was kinda stupid. The stampede ran around me and I didnt get hurt, partly due tot he fact that there were only a dozen or so of them. I got luck.

But hey, I didn't die, and I got some **AMAZING** photos, so I will take it as a win.

@icedquinn indeed, they were charging down the road at me full speed (you can see the snow being kicked up). But oddly shortly after they pass me and my group they stopped and the stampede was over (as you can see in the third picture which is me looking back after they passed me to get some shots of the trailing end of the stampede).

It actually isnt uncommon in stampedes for the buffalo near the end to be more casual and the ones near the beginning to be completely freaked out. Mostly because its the buffalo behind them that are making them panic so the ones near the end don't have anything kicking them into a panic usually unless they are genuinely running from something.
