We are only 2 days into the trial of #DerekChauvin regarding the murder of #GeorgeFloyd and the evidence is so overwhelmingly damning I will be really surprised and dismayed if he gets anything less than 2nd degree murder.

Lane, the other cop on the scene, repeatedly asked cauvin to get off his neck and take a pulse with cauvin repeatedly refusing. Even when Lane managed to take a pulse with cauvin continuing to suffocate Floyd he stated he could not find a pulse and was afraid his heart had stopped. Despite this Cauvin continued to suffocate the man for several minutes as they waited for the ambulance to arrive.

Worse yet when the ambulance arrived they asked Chauvin to get off of Floyd so they can check if he was ok (or even alive) and Chauvin refused forcing the ambulance EMT to physically push Chauvin off of him. It was indeed confirmed his heart had stopped and chest compressions were administered the whole way to the hospital with no luck.

I'd say suffocating a person and then continuing to do it after every indication the guys heart stopped until someone physically has to pull you off is pretty much second degree murder no matter what defense you use.
