Rhode & schwartz test equipment is officially my favorite brand... I have one of their oscopes, I wish i needed a new spectrum analyzer though, would love one of those from them!

@freemo Have you looked into the open hardware or DIY tools? They can be impressive but are not the most accurate. Cheap and open is definitely a plus.

@AmpBenzScientist I have several open source tools. They tend to add value the high end ones dont, but they dont and cant replace the high end ones.

For example I have the DSO nano which is my handheld scope.. great if you need a handheld and a bench scope wont do, very small, has most of the features you need including a rudimentary spectrum analyzer. But like anything cheap it isnt very sensative, and has a very limited frequency range. For any sort of RF/radio work it is useless and only a proper bench setup worth quite a bit is going to cut it. But yea owning both is a good idea and they server their respective purposes.
