I am writing the CSS/html for a new Hugo-based site for my new company and I must say I am LOVING the look... when did I get good at front-end, I used to suck at this!
@bonifartius agreed. Plus now we have meta-languages for css like sass that make it even easier.
@freemo i don't use the transpiling stuff, maybe some templating. my stuff isn't fancy though, i just want a clean look for classic web pages :)
@bonifartius my reasoning for the avoidance is that with sass etc. i have another layer i need to do accounting for in my head :)
@bonifartius sass only really helps when you are dealing with multiple CSS files and you need to reuse or overlay a lot, which is pretty common. But yea its overkill if you dont need it. I'm not using it on my current site because its just not needed yet.
@freemo i think css has really improved over time.. it now more often does what i want ;)
