@b6hydra Well I think the genital mutilation part is in reference to male circumcision, which is purely cosmetic form of genital mutilation performed on male children without consent.
As for the statues, most of the historic statues destroyed that are much old (thousands of years in many cases) were also of traitors and even dictators, so your not really making much of a distinction there.
Yes you'd be correct that the taliban are likely to perform more (and worse) forms of genital mutilation than Americans perform, I'll give you that. The American version, while still genital mutilation, is a much milder form than some other types.
@freemo Good points. I assumed a lot about the OP's motive. I would disagree that the rationale behind male circumcision is purely cosmetic, but I'm not sure it really matters. That rationalization doesn't stand out to me as being better than any of the others I've heard. And of course I do concede that it's less terrible than something like clitoridectomy.
