@Pat Nothing wrong with that per say. It really just comes down to how strongly your opinion equates to confidence.

Occasionally, someone who doesn't know much about a problem can have a perspective or insight that experts overlook simply because they are just too close to the problem.

@freemo People throw random "opinion-like" comments at me. Often I have to respond "this is a more complex issue that I have never looked into deeply before".
9 out of 10 they start lecturing me about the topic and it is clear they do not understand it themselves.
It always feels these conversations are more about dominance instead of gaining knowledge/seeking truth.
