If you just want to make a radio you could follow existing schematics easy enough. I take it you want a deeper understanding than that however?

You will want to start with analog circuit analysis techniques most likely. Do you know dc/digital electronics.

You will want to go back to the basics and understand DC and digital electronics first. Learn your ohms law and kirchoffs laws, get the basics down. They will be needed to move on to analog/rd

@freemo correct. An almost "from scratch" understanding as if we had a nuclear Holocaust and I had to understand it enough to be able to recreate rudimentary radio communication.
