@DecaturNature i've been here dince before mastodon and remember when they added that. it is the most naive idiotic moderation mechanism on the internet. even smtp is more reasoned in thier approach.

@DecaturNature @yes before ActivityPub and Mastodon, there was OStatus and GNU Social. IIRC, Mastodon originally supported OStatus and only removed it when most GS instances shut down.
