@freemo 🤣 Mixing your mythos a little there. What inspired this joke?
@worldsendless I mean, the man rose from the dead 3 days later and just strolled out of a grave... the mythos was already set in motion long before i arrived to point it out.
@freemo Well, Jesus, yes; but not the Dracula mirror thing, nor the clever demonology "invite in" crossover
@worldsendless him rising from the grave is suggestive of him being a vampire. The rest comes from vampire mythos.
@freemo lol Is the "invite in" vampire mythos? I've been scouring the internet for leads and found some fascinating threads on demonology, but can't find an exact source for the "they have to be invited" concept
@worldsendless yea vampires cant enter your house without being invited in.. Jesus is often said that "you need to invite him in [to your heart["
@freemo is that Bram Stoker vampires, or Anne Rice, or ...?
@worldsendless
Dont know the genesis of that idea but its in most vampire lore.
This source seems to claim to know, I didnt read but looks like it answers your question: https://www.distractify.com/p/why-do-vampires-have-to-be-invited-in#:~:text=According%20to%20The%20Vampire%20Book,a%20vampire%20to%20be%20invited
@worldsendless There was a hot minute there where vampires were treated by some as a scientific study. Problem is it was mostly just scammy bullshit to sell shit. But eh, it is what it is.
