Im wathcing the movie Big. Thereis a scene where a bunch of corporate management are in a room having a meeting. There is only one woman and half of them are smoking cigarettes in the meeting.

Such a strange thing to trigger my nostalgia, but i remember when it used to be that way.

@freemo Remember the cigarette machines in Waffle House? I kinda miss it.

@freemo This is exactly how amphetamine tablets should be sold. Imagine drug vending machines that aren't overpriced and are available to the public. That's freedom.

@freemo I remember them when Newports were like $1.75 a pack. I've used one maybe once for a pack and a lighter.

@freemo i work for a fortune 500 company. One of the old guard mentioned that when he started here they asked if he was a heavy smoker or light to determine which ashtray he'd need. Apparently you had to be more than a pack a day to get the big one. Said the cubes where just like the smoke stacks at the factory 🏭 started at 9 and stopped at 5

@y I was too young back then to actually be working in an office. But it really doesnt surprise me. My uncle woudl drive us around in his truck as he chain smoked with the windows mostly up and 3 kids under 10 in the back seat.

I had asthema and would complain and my uncle would laugh at me for complaining about second hand smoke. It truely were different times.
