@freemo Especially when their pages already want to load javascript from 70 external sources before you ever create an account.
The journalism industry isn't dying. It's being strangled to death by its jackass business-class owners.
Honestly I consider all journalism to just be yellow journalism at this point. Despite being a fairly pro-capatilist person I have come to the conclusion you cant even have journalistic integrity unless you operate as a non-profit and typically not even then.
@freemo I would agree with that characterization for larger media companies.
But I think there are still smaller, independent enterprises that are better. I think the way forward could be small co-op journalism outlets that work together to stake a reputation of honesty and reliability.
@LouisIngenthron The day i see a small (or any size) news organation that isnt just bias, but blatantly and intentionally biased I'll be shocked. That said I really have given up on news so if small news has gotten good i might be surprised as i havent given them a chance lately
@LouisIngenthron Accidental bias when your trying reallllly hard not to do it sure... But the bias i see isnt accidental its more like "If i dont show this bias all my viewers will hat me"... could you imagine how fast a news org would tank if they posted positive news about dems and republicans at the same time in todays climate...
