More strange behavior: my browser tab indicates that I have notifications, the top of the notifications column says there are some number of them, but when I click on the number it just disappears. (Normally it would expand to show the notification.)
I fear that there are notifications I'm not seeing.

@peterdrake thanks im flyi g right now but we will start some serious work on bringing some fixes online once i land. Its next thing on our list now that the infrastructure (after 2 redesigns) seems to be working. Right now the team is brini g up the debugging tools (elk) so by the time we land we can bring up the fixes in beta. Should fix lots of this stuff.
