@Richard @freemo If the man stays at home and the woman goes to work - assuming that they both produce the same labor - then this does not change the amount of labor performed, or the amount of taxes collected.

When you throw in the fact that women are knocked out of the work force temporarily when they are pregnant, this actually *shrinks* the amount of labor performed, and the amount of taxes collected.

You're talking past each other, I wanted to make it so you two weren't doing that.

@Richard @freemo It's OK. When talking with people across the aisle, you have to understand that there are a very large number of things that we think are obvious which really aren't.

Those people *also* have a large number of things that seem obvious to them, and they'll also be confusing to you.

When you do have these conversations, be sure that both of you are talking slowly and not making big jumps so that you can have a proper understanding of each other.
