Other people are making the choice for you to make data available everywhere so if you use data then it's that time again to re-evaluate just before they steal the water for you.

Remote / cloud storage services are not working out well in many ways.

Reduce your demand and the data footprint is accordingly reduced and not in your name / not your fault.

THIS THE DIRECT CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE = THE WATER YOU WANT TO DRINK.

30% of data centers in USA are taking 10% of water in some places and that's surely going to increase and cascade more problems.... and suddenly make water scarcity for residents... which then grows and make people pay more of course. Another way of a business from a knock-on effect or domino problem. Make more money off water.

Google of all people are asking for more and more water, converting it into profits. Probably for shitty videos we all have copies of (I'm reconsidering keeping them)

using less = less demand and so less other problems

This is the ultimate technological ultimatum / crossing point.
You must consciously choose internet or water (and not when it runs out either).

It's similar to those pictures of someone charging their mobile by unplugging the hospital machine that is next to them that helps them live. You can't cheat yourself or others like that.

MAKE A TARGET DATA FOOTPRINT
For example I've been reducing my life to 1 disk (1TB) and a few Gb's online storage... + 1 backup of all that (which isn't online and manually backed up)
I knew for a while I can lose data so I manually do it and it may be a couple of months back in time... whatever... who is going to miss that?

Totally sucking or occupying data while alive is what I see even clever good people doing.

Those I already spoke to about it, you know who you are. You can't get away / cheat the system of nature.

You have all have chance to reduce / delete / make audio only from videos. Or just delete your 1080p version outright (each scaled copies for peertube etc are horrendous - delete copies).

I don't really want to point to people. Reduce data - and if you think you can't let me know.

If you have some cases you think it works also let's chat as I'm sure there is a right balance and we all need external polite review to 'let go' nicely or stand our logical ground to what we think 'might be useful' later.

For example put in 1 place if you see many copies of same thing, run some programs.
