It's not yet a feature but could be.

I am urging people to make an add-on or update to DM's to add an email style front end so the message format can get people using LIKE email for safer Fediverse communication (Direct Messages which already exist).

'Email' would be excellent move as there are lots of Fediverse type email servers already and just need some columns / sorting labels (just to start that would be OK and almost do it!)
