I've heard people say that using e-mail as a way to explain the interoperability/decentralization/account addressing of #Fediverse / #Mastodon / etc is bad. Why? What is the pitfall in using this analogy?

@n00q Reasons why not to use this analogy?:
➡️ People don't understand #email to start with, so an analogy to try explain something else doesn't #help / makes it worse / more unclear.
➡️ #decentralization is still a fairly new word that needs proper explaining itself - it's a bit unclear / murky who owns #computer, what is it as level etc - it needs a basic-shape or diagram to explain it for various things as a kind of template.
A logo star #system version also helps see things in #Fediverse 'space'.
➡️ Pictures - They are generally easier for people.
I've made a few examples in the past - let me know if you want some random around this...
