When we stumble upon a paradox, everything that leads to it makes sense, everything has been done right, everyone has answered questions truthfully, so we are accurate and true, but there is a contradiction.

Once you have a way of thinking, you attempt to solve all problems through that method.

The world is awash with information and that it is necessary for professionals in all fields to be able to makes sense of that information so that information becomes knowledge. AI can't do this... yet.

Only humans can assess the effects of information on other humans.

Dewey posited educative experiences must build upon what learners already know (or think they know), their lessons must become the foundation for further learning, and the experiences have social value. Above all, Dewey argued, education must be perceived as immediately relevant to the learner.

Knowledge as value-laden; expectations, context, and emotions all influence what is known.

Different and contradictory interpretations of reality can be both logically sound and supported by evidence.

Wisdom is knowledge and skill that can be applied in unpredictable and diverse circumstances.

The temperature outside is an example of data. With no context, data has little meaning and it can be reported with precision that can be objectively evaluated.

My first computer arrived on my desktop about 10 years before the Internet became available to consumers, so the only data in my computer were those that I created or those that I loaded using floppy disks (5 1/4 inches). I am not sure that was so bad compared to today.

We need to rethink writing. If we understand it as a tool to help us learn rather than a tool to restate what other have understood, we might be able to convince students to take it seriously.

Here is your regular reminder that the saying should be "always state the opinions upon which you base your facts."

Data. Cherry picking is the one way to ensure it always supports your dumb idea.

We can't replicate human cognition in computers. We don't understand it well enough. We might create it unintentionally, but we won't construct it.
