One should cooperate within increasing spheres to gain competitive advantage.

There is rich evidence that cooperation rather than competition is a strategy associated with long-term survival of life.

Data driven decision making is summarized as a step-by-step process: a) we administer a test, b) identify deficiencies as demonstrated in the data, c) take remediation actions to address those deficiencies, and d) find the deficiencies reduced when a test is again administered. Its also a myth.

“Men who have excessive faith in their theories or ideas are not only ill prepared for making discoveries, they also make very poor observations.”

We often fool ourselves into thinking what we measure actually reflects what we want to know.

Good theories have heuristic power. They help us discover new things.

Science depends on interpreting observations as much as making them.

Doubting everything is pretty much the same as believing everything.

I know enough to realize a single data point is meaningless.

Want to make a "data-driven" leader stare blankly? Ask them how they corrected for race, gender, income, or any other relevant variable.

Scientists define and control variables. "Data driven" leaders forget this principle of science.

Scientists seek to identify not only correlation but causation. Good scientific theory allows us to explain cause and effect relationships, and thus to make predictions: If we do A, it will cause B, because of this mechanism.
