Naturalistic researchers accept that role of the individual in creating and understanding knowledge and meaning. That doesn't mean "reality" doesn't exist; it does mean different folks interpret it differently.

The traditional approach to education focused on transmitting declarative and procedural knowledge through methods like rote memorization and repetitive drills...that is not generally effective.
