Hey presenters… if you aren’t going to actually adapt your presentation to what we say about ourselves when you start, don’t waste the time.

I heard “I already know how to do this” many times in my career as a teacher. When I asked students to “prove it” (in a non challenging tone), about half did.

If your students already know the curriculum, why teach it?

Leders often make mistakes when hiring technology people, but they do not admit to other or to themselves.

Here is one of my favorite ways to find out the degree to which a leader has thought about their decisions or goals: I ask, “What will be the effect if this doesn’t happen?”

In recent decades, the amount of information that can reasonably be included in the curriculum has expanded, and the rate at which information is generated is making it impossible that teachers can cover the content they should.

Some things “everyone knows” turn out not to be true after all.

Should we be concerned folks either no knowledge want to write policy regarding generative AI? Yes. Yes! YES

Those technologies you dislike… don’t ignore them. Others are not!

If you want to know what matters most in education, do not pay attention to what gets the most attention and has the strongest advocates.

Ostensibly, education is a simple endeavor. Unfortunately, when it is undertaken from a simple perspective, it fails.

If you can’t describe what’s wrong with your data, I will be very cautious about believing you.
