Alfred North Whitehead warned us about eduction that produces “’inert ideas’—that is to say, ideas that are merely received into the mind without being utilized, or tested, or thrown into fresh combinations."

When parental involvement in school is based on surveillance (e.g. track homework), it negatively affects performance. Yeah, sure aligns with my teaching experience.
