Data that is collected in uncontrolled (or at least undescribed) settings is not reliable ... not are conclusions based on it.

If students see themselves as readers, writers, scientists, etc., then we can start.

"Do they like it?" is rarely worth asking in educational settings.

Once you define the proxy, it matters rather than the thing.
