I really don't ' care what questions my studnets can answer... I care about the problems they can solve.

When is one "done" building a sand castle?

Reading outside on summer evenings is one of the great things about living in New England.

In the natural sciences, problems are clearly and completely defined, and all who are familiar with the field will concur on the nature of the questions and the nature of the methods to be employed to solve the problem.

While many problems are complex and irreducible, those with a social dimension were fundamentally different from those without social dimensions.

Learning is promoted when learners are engaged in solving real-world problems.

Compared to the rationale for driving rules and the rationale for organizational rules for, the rationale for classroom rules are more ambiguous. Why do we not wear hats? Why do we not carry backpacks? Why do we set any rules?

Once we believe the method will “work,” then any data that we collect will confirm our bias.

It is an unfortunate reality that many who are the strongest advocates for practices are the least able to react to it in a critical manner.

Facts are based on opinion more than opinions are based on facts.

Necessity is rarely the mother of invention.

When someone asks how something went, I say "as expected." The reactions are alway worth it.

‘Interesting’ is an ambiguous endorsement.

Technologies are non-static. As new discoveries are made, the technologies that are used in one module or at one level of organization will be updated and reinvented. These changes will affect all of the technologies in connected modules and at all levels, thus the function of the entire technology system is affected by a single change.
