30+ years in education has made me come to know expertise is regularly rejected.

Hype... it's got a cycle. Knowing where you are saves much consternation.

While claiming to be “data-driven,” educators are incredibly sloppy with our collection, analysis, management, and reporting of data.

When students ask "Why are we doing this?" Many teachers speculate at their motivation: “Are they trying to distract me?” “Are they trying to get out of doing work?” “Are they challenging my authority?” are all reasonable interpretations of the question.

Data the show "it works" is fine, but if you can't explain how "it works" then you should questions the data too.

When individuals become educated and when they adopt science-like approaches, they do reject certain ideas and they promote others. This is not because of indoctrination, it is because of reason.

No college can claim to be an inclusive community and dedicated to equity if they are not taking their responsibility to create accessible materials seriously. Very seriously.

That is the point of integration; boundaries are blurred.

I fail to see how a career as a business leader leaves a philanthropist more qualified than I am to recommend sound pedagogy, so I am skeptical to the point of cynicism about the pedagogy they promote.

I check in on twitter about once per week. I miss the interaction with my colleagues on that platform, but the misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda that I see when I go back makes me confident it isn't worth my attention.

When we take our recycling, the attendant sometime does not give the dog who accompanies us a treat. The dog is not happy on those days..

IT people can tell those who are leaders, but have never been responsible for IT just like teachers can tell administrators who have never taught.
