Seriously... If someone else assumes responsibility for a project your first reached out to me about, then stop including me on the emails.

Support of educational technology is a multidimensional aspect of school leadership. Too often it is just handed off to a single person or team.

All that work you did to make the graphs look fancy obfuscated the message.

"Actionable" is the business speak that I find most silly.

Sure, you might have lots of data, but if it isn't accurate, what is the point?

One thing I learned during 35 years in education: Leaders usually have no idea this year's initiative is contrary to last year's initiative.

30+ years in education has made me come to know expertise is regularly rejected.

Hype... it's got a cycle. Knowing where you are saves much consternation.

While claiming to be “data-driven,” educators are incredibly sloppy with our collection, analysis, management, and reporting of data.

When students ask "Why are we doing this?" Many teachers speculate at their motivation: “Are they trying to distract me?” “Are they trying to get out of doing work?” “Are they challenging my authority?” are all reasonable interpretations of the question.
