AI is all the rage right now, but responsible educators must actively participate in negotiating its role in our work. We are all trying to figure out how this technology will affect us.

“I need some help with x” is always worth saying. When leaders get advice after that ask, but don’t follow through with it, it is bad form to ask for help with it again.

Here is your regular reminder that technology rarely solves problems technology created.

The more requirements you make, the fewer participants you will have. I’m puzzled why folks don’t understand this.

If your team isn’t diverse, then you will be unaware of the biases that doom your solution.

Respect without understanding seems a good way to get lots of dangerous ideas to be mainstream.

Early in my teaching career, I knew a curriculum leader who said his job was to keep the pendulum from swinging too far either way. He understood different methods are appropriate for different purposes. Educational leaders have lost sight of that reality.

If you and your friends are anti book, then you can be sure I will not support you in any way and I'll work to minimize your influence.

You can provide a very specific and detailed and accurate definition, but still not understand much about what you define,

If you need AI to detect plagiarism are you really qualified to be judging the work?

If you are only changing the names of things, it isn't innovation.

Technology Steering Committees are composed of diverse representatives from across the community. Their primary goal is to find solutions that are mutually supportive for all stakeholders.

Teachers want that is robust, reliable, and secure, but it also must allow them and their students to successfully complete necessary tasks.
