' “While no one condones looting…one can understand the pent-up feelings that may result from decades of repression and people who have had members of their family killed by that regime,” Rumsfeld remarked, with off-the-chart arrogance. “And I don't think there’s anyone … (who wouldn’t) accept it as part of the price of getting from a repressed regime to freedom.”

Rumsfeld’s shockingly cynical comment, which revealed to what extent Washington would go to control the political situation in a foreign land, resonates with significance today. Would Rumsfeld and others so blithely suggest, as he did in Iraq, that the looters running wild on the streets of America today are justified in their behavior because they have had “members of their family killed by that regime,” and that this is just “part of the price” of achieving freedom? It seems altogether unlikely.'

there's a reason cops are hated. They can't help their douchebaggery

Even the reporter tries to talk sense into these cunt cops but they just kept pissing their pants rushing to arrest the "scary black folk". Lol 🤦🏻‍♀️

@InvaderXan @machado This was in Brooklyn yesterday. Dudes with white armbands shoving people

I die boosted

this 30 second video limit is driving me nuts.

@Lwasserman @freemo No it exacerbates it. Surely that's intentional though. They must be itching to use the gear

@Sakuloko 👏👏👏 Tenía la esperanza de uno independiente, que bueno. Prueba de falsificacion tambien me imagino

@Sakuloko ¿Será la segunda autopsia verdad?

@freemo I agree - saw plenty races get beat up over the weekend, sadly. I didn't mean this as the solution to the crisis, but it is one of the many changes I'd like to see. Multiple reforms are needed. Even so I believe the larger picture is deeper than corrupt cops. capitalism enables that corruption, and is the engine behind the US' racist history. Until the capitalism system finds itself competing against a cooperative one I don't think I'll see much change at the root 😕

@freemo but i see what you mean though. My thinking being, police should better reflect their own communities. Maybe a larger radius, or even a focus on matching demographics with a community's. It's just crazy to see mostly white dudes patrolling near 100% POC communities

A speculation that I haven't seen enough evidence of to worry about, of black cop groups busting in houses to shoot other blacks. Since they dont exist really. No PD in America is all-black. one black cop or two out of an entire force of whites, outnumbered usually, is the case. besides, that exact dynamic is happening now just reversed. White cops from distant communities play favorites and protect their own friend cops when these cops are guilty of brutality and dont hesitate to shoot

The REAL outside agitators are concealed by the same media. myriad of reports from communities of white men in black/masked/armed breaking windows, undercover cops dressed in civilian clothing with identifying armbands pushing peaceful protestors into the police yo incite violence. Video of this is everywhere and the media will NOT fucking show that. So the tactic will be, create a hoax story that foreign actors are behind this to hide their own crimes.

I can smell it. The next conspiracy hoax narrative the corporate media will push is of foreign "outside agitators". behind the protests. Every person interviewed on local miami news last night was asked where they lived. If it wasn't "Miami", they were labeled outsiders. Never mind fellow Floridians driving from neighboring cities. They're ALL russian/Chinese spies now

i think rules should change to make it so that cops have to live within a certain radius of the neighborhoods they "serve". For ex 10 miles. if the cop isnt personally connected to his/her community, mofo doesn't BELONG there

@mutuality@social.coop It serves their masters agenda to have media claim protestors incite the violence and ignore how many times these bastards are behind it. A rotted police culture here
