Had a nice visit with #green Party MPP @mikeschreiner@twitter. He spoke with my #gradstudents about the importance of #wetlands and #ecology , the danger of #compensation policy, what is happening to the #greenbelt , and the outsized importance of small, isolated #wetlands for #waterquality

Thanks: we follow the evidence. #masks reduce transmission risk and keep us healthy at work so our important research on #wetlands , #pesticides , #microplastics , #BioControl of #invasivespecies and #restoration can continue!
@girls_can @ontariogreens @academicchatter @ecology yah, if only everyone did!
@oamaes @ontariogreens @academicchatter @ecology 100%. MPP Schreiner posted this photo to that bird app and >100 likes, but not a single comment about #wetlands or #Bill23 or even #tuition and #housing costs. Just comments for or against #masks. This sensible #health and #safety precaution has become a trigger issue and overly political!
@girls_can @ontariogreens @academicchatter @ecology absolutely 😕 I was ALSO very stoked you were meeting about wetlands! It just feels like so many photos and meetings are mask less, it's nice to see when folks "get it".
@oamaes @ontariogreens @academicchatter @ecology I totally appreciate that. I make a point of keeping my mask on for photos because I think it is disingenuous to pose maskless and reinforce the lie that things are “back to normal”. I also think it is an important way to enact solidarity with those who cannot risk a COVID infection.
@girls_can @ontariogreens @academicchatter @ecology so good to see you all wearing masks! Keep up the good work!
