I've seen people complaining about how #HogwartsLegacy performs on #SteamDeck. Perhaps it is an expectations problem, because this to me look great considering it is a tiny and cheap handheld system! #gaming #GamingOnLinux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnaieQMpvT4&ab_channel=PC-Gaming.it
@gpowerf cheap? $400 to $650 is more expensive than the Switch, Xbox Series S, X and the PS5! In any case, I felt the FFVII Remake ran terrible on the Deck, until I modified the settings and then it ran great and looked better than the default configuration.
@mbrio oh really? It is priced lower than Series X and PS5 here. I didn't know PS5 and Series X were at sub $400 dollar prices in some regions.
@mbrio oh. I see what you mean.
But back to your original question, I think it is cheap. Especially the cheapest one, which is much more affordable than pretty much anything but a Series S. It is close to Switch, which is a price point where families can get several handhelds.
@gpowerf I don’t completely agree, I think there are a lot of families that would be hard pressed to buy multiple Decks, I have two in my family, but that was a really hard sell. I DO think it’s an incredible device, and you definitely get what you pay for! The library of games is incredible, and so many games run well on it. Not to mention all of the support Valve is pumping into it. I do not regret the buy one bit! I wouldn’t want them to drop the price if it meant a drop in quality!
