There are nowhere near enough with 16GB of RAM. And the ones that exist are priced like this.

I really love ChromeOS as a daily driver, but honestly the hardware specs are probably going to the the thing that come new laptop time will push me towards a Linux or MacOS laptop.

@gpowerf Gods damn, for that price you might as well buy a fullblown gaming laptop. 👀

@trinsec Mmmmm.... depends, sure the powerful GPU would be good, but the lil Chromebook does have thinness and portability going for it compared to most gaming laptops.

So basically, it depends :)

@gpowerf My idea of something with a chromeOS is max 400-500 euro. :P

@trinsec I don’t differentiate between Chromebooks, Macs or Linux laptops that much. I use them all the same way. With Crostini, I can run the same software on any of them, but the Chromebooks boot much faster.

ChromeOS has some advantages and disadvantages over MacOS or Linux. One thing I like about ChromeOS is how easy it is to back up and restore your whole Linux container. It’s ideal for experimenting with a specific project and then returning to a previous state.

The only thing I steer clear of is Windows.
