Would you buy a Valve box that's about $500-$600? Inline with specs of consoles, or budget gaming PCs, running SteamOS, competing directly with Xbox and PlayStation.#gaming #gamingonlinux
@wiredfire it's dockable and I've used it that way. But it lacks a little oooph to be comparable to a modern console.
@gpowerf I do like me a dockable handheld.. the Switch and the Retroid Pocket 3 both do a decent job of it, and I've no doubt the 'deck does too! But I could certainly see the appeal :D
@gpowerf Not voted, because I'm missing the 'maybe' option.
@gpowerf choosed No, not because I would think that valve couldn't pull it of but rather because the steamdeck works really well being used as an hybrid console like the Nintendo switch.
Specs might be not the best anymore but the software side of things makes it just so Great.
@viktor I agree, SteamOS is phenomenal.
@gpowerf yes! Can't wait till it releases fully for other handheld devices or dedicated steam consoles.
@viktor I'd be tempted to build a PC for home and run two distros on it, Ubuntu or Pop!_OS for daily use and SteamOS for gaming :)
@gpowerf I'll not vote as I'm not in a position to realistically buy such a thing in the foreseeable future, but given the success of the SteamDeck I could absolutely see Steam making a play for the living room space!
