This is the Firebomb Edition of the GWM Cannon: a limited edition version of a Chinese pickup that already gets quite a lot of press internationally. This edition features a lift, new wheels and tyres, a revamped grill, wheel arches, and roof rack. The snorkel is included as standard in the regular Off-Road edition (as far as I know).

The Cannon is a fascinating truck that unfortunately isn't available in the UK. It sits somewhere between a mid-size and full-size truck, and is powered by a typical small turbo diesel engine, which delivers between 163 to 224 hp and ample low-end torque - in line with other mid-size trucks.

I’m skating at the practise rink and there’s hockey practise on the game rink… I wish I were feeling little braver and walk to the other side, I want to know what teams they are 😂

I finally saw a Defender 130 on the road today and I REALLY like it! Other than this one car most of the Euro market has a total lack of practical extra long wheelbase SUVs like Suburbans or Expeditions, heck we don’t even get Nissan Patrols or Toyota LC300s! So this stands alone as the 3 rows of seats, larger cargo capable SUV here and I love it for it… now, if only it could cost £20k less… Or Isuzu please release an extra long wheelbase MU-X 😉

This Chinese EV pickup is pretty interesting. It is 2WD only conversion using a setup very similar to the SAIC MAXUS T90EV, that's to say a rear-mounted electric motor attached straight to the differential housing.

Seems hodgepodge and low tech, however, what I like about this approach is that it means that manufacturers can go EV sooner by converting their existing trucks easily.

Despite the hodgepodge approach, the range for this truck is 453-kilometer, and the power and torque are 177 hp and 450 Nm which is similar to other mid-size trucks with 4-cylinder turbo-diesels.

As for the looks, yes! It is in fact very much just an old Nissan Navara and it is a Zhengzhou-Nissan joint venture.

I personally want a 4x4 truck as I do off-road. But for those people who don't something like this is fine. I don't think there's anything wrong with the low-tech EV approach. Particularly not for the commercial market.

As for the name, this is the Dongfeng Rich 6!

Spy shots of upcoming BYD EV and hybrid pickup being tested in China. No details on size or full specs, but I hope this is a world-market mid-size truck like a HiLux.

I hope it comes to Europe in EV form, this market REALLY needs EV 4x4s and trucks, we have nothing!

Some mornings I get up early to get one or two games done :) Is it just me or do any of you have a small 10 to 20-minute session before work and breakfast?

I want to see more that are able to run and games in a performant fashion. I want to see more powerful GPUs and CPUs becoming normal on Chromebooks for both and intensive tasks.

One of my hobbies is RC cars. Specifically love scale 4x4s. The yellow Jeep is mine and it has a fully working winch, a driver and passenger, and the back is full of scale cargo typical of a camping outing including tiny little bottles of coke and wine.

Someone actually ordered an J150 short wheelbase. I hardly ever see one! This thing is rare… here anyway.

PS: it was in Irish plates. So it came from outside the country.

The pool the kids swim at is right next to the University’s football field (yes, field. The North American kind of football). Anyway, this was at the car park.

I really really really really like my Isuzu. It is only the second brand new car I’ve ever had but my God having a pickup is soooooo practical! I’m a convert.

Sure it is slow, the engine is loud too, but it does what I want it to. I can’t wait for an EV version 😄 that way the loud part will be gone.
