@xenenic Oh nice!!! I've never seen AIX running :D it's still going and supported, right?
#introduction I'm migrating from https://creatorstudio.space/@xenenic.
I'm a retro hobbyist who seems to enjoy running as many obscure operating systems as possible as well as saving broken retro tech, mostly x86. I sometimes stream my repairs/shenanigans as well as new builds.
Currently working on getting IBM AIX for the PS/2 working on an industrial 486DX.
@jaxwxboss @gnemmi practical things yeah :)
@Edizionilazio @noelreports he's quite simply the most handsome and athletic man who ever lived.
@gpowerf @Rana Or worse, trolls don't have to bother DDOSing any more, they can just DROS (Dedicated reinstallation of software) an indie game company into bankruptcy.
I won't be surprised when there's a malware tool for sale next week to spin up hundreds of VMs automatically to install games and rake up charges.
@LouisIngenthron @Rana This is a scary proposition. What if you pull the game from the market but people continue to reinstall their current downloads? This literally puts your company at risk.
@Edizionilazio @noelreports sounds like a plan!
And for clarity, this is something that was genuinely claimed by the North Korean government.
@Rana @gpowerf They already said they're putting trackers into their runtime so they collect the numbers they'll use to bill us and that we should just "trust them" that the numbers are right.
They've also explicitly stated that multiple installs from a single sale will count twice.
So, given all that, it seems very unlikely that they'd have some kind of magic way for their tracking software to determine whether a game was legitimate or not.
@gamingonlinux I've printed a sign that states that by allowing my truck to enter your parking lot you forgo any fees I owe you for parking and in fact, now you as the parking lot owner owe me $100. Perfect plan!
HEY #unity developers, what resources would help you most for a switch to #godotengine, what resources do you think are missing (especially in regard to C#).
I've done the switch in February and I'd love to work on some resources to make it easier for all!
@flargh @lowqualityfacts you win at Mastodon today! LOL!
@lowqualityfacts also, BMI stands for Bowel Movement IQ. It's a measure of how smart you become after you poop.
@OutofPrintArchive This is a phenomenal game! Follows the tradition of outstanding 8 and 16 bit Disney games. I miss getting these games, I'd love a new #Duckverse or #Mickey game :)

Steam Deck not picking up your SD Card? Check for the latest update https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/09/steam-deck-not-picking-up-your-sd-card-check-for-the-latest-update/
@gamingonlinux fixed for me this morning :) the workaround was an annoying SD card re-insertion.
Can I ask something regarding #Windows?
Occasionally I need Windows to run something that only runs on Windows (eg: software to patch a hobby transmitter for instance). My approach is to simply borrow a box for the task, but as far as I know Windows works without a license nowadays.
Is it common to use Windows unlicensed? I'm asking for a friend here of course.
This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.
