The tally of people infected with the coronavirus after attending a high-profile CDC conference in April has risen to at least 181.
About 70% of participants who responded to a CDC survey said they did not wear masks at the event.

During El Niño, winds that usually push warmer water in the Pacific Ocean towards its west side weaken, allowing the warmer water to drift back towards the east and spread out over a larger area of the ocean. This leads to more moisture-rich air above the warmer ocean that alters the circulation of air in the atmosphere around the world. In North America, this typically causes Canada and the northern US to have a warmer, drier winter than normal while the southern states and Gulf coast tend to get wetter conditions.

Speaking through the state media’s anonymous “informed sources,” it seems the Kremlin now openly acknowledges that Evan Gershkovich is a political hostage being held to pressure foreign journalists into shutting up about Russian war crimes. https://t.co/SsFusBRwmL
Much about Russiagate is ultimately unknowable. But there’s one episode that *is* knowable. It’s also the single-most important instance of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.
Incredibly, most commentators completely missed it.
My latest: Russiagate, pt. 4

Last week, I had a chance to visit @hypertalking’s (James’s) excellent collection of Mac-related stuff. He’s particularly interested in collecting 1990s Macs, which is the era of Apple history I don’t have a lot of personal experience with, so it was doubly exciting.
Here are some 100 photos from that visit:
Elon Musk is diving deeper into delusion each day, and in a cringe-inducing interview on CNBC, he tried to use 'The Princess Bride' to justify his recent antisemitic tweets.
It's clear he is immune to shame or even, it would seem, the threat of reputational or financial harm he is causing himself and his companies.

Excellent. Montréal continues to show us a way forward:
Starting on July 1, drivers of larger, heavier cars will pay more for residential parking permits in one busy corner of town.
Permit prices will depend on both engine size and vehicle weight, with cheaper prices for electric, hydrogen and plug-in hybrid cars.
Tomorrow is the last day of A Little Wordy and then the game will disappear. I want to thank you all for playing. https://theoatmeal.com/wordy

The pre-teen was arrested along with a 20-year-old.

Just came back from a dentist. The #Amberalert went off just as he was drilling my tooth. Gave him (and me) a nasty jolt. He says everything is fine but I think the lesson here is: don't keep your phone in your shirt pocket while at a dentist.
