What would you say makes a good “backup #browser ” — ie, no extensions, add-ons, etc. for those few sites that absolutely refuse to run on the likes of #IceCat even with ALL plugins/etc disabled — but wouldn’t goatse myself towards every passing bit of malware and giant-corp tracking like #firefox and #chrome would? Would #Brave or #Iridium work well enough, or do all chromium-based browsers "phone home" to #google ?

Someone, somewhere, truly believes this!

To think I already looked up and attempted several solutions to get the play store to update anything. Sigh. I swear my next phone will be a dumbphone or something I can put Linux on so I'm not locked into so much vendor trash (stole this term from MMOs! ) without the risk of bricking a $1000 piece of hardware by trying to root it.
