@coffeegeek totally agree. The iteration on the 2009 with the 5k and much thinner computer was amazing. Improved the look on every aspect and that monitor was top. I wish the Studio Display was a bit cheaper, because it’s better than any other monitor around 1000$, but I can’t justify paying almost 2000$ for just a screen…
@coffeegeek two things: 1) you’re a true coffee geek 😅 2) that iMac’s design was sheer perfection. I had the 27” model and that thing looks modern even 15 years later. It was the pinnacle of Ive’s design team.
This is very sad, and an example of what happens when the collective public relies on dubious 2 minute shorts on TikTok and Youtube to get their "information" from, more and more, and lose the ability to absorb long form content by people who actually know what they're talking about.

@coffeegeek Have you tried the Flair coffee scale? I’m in the market for an entry level scale, I’m not 100% convinced by the 3Bomber mini, and the Flair falls at the same price point. I wonder if they managed to make a decent scale that goes well with Flair machines or if it’s not up to standards. And it seems nobody on the coffee scene has reviewed it…
@coffeegeek 1Zpresso is so good it’s scary. They are so far ahead of the competition and their prices are unbelievable. Had a J-Max for 2 years and use it daily. It works as good as new.
@charliemchapman did you say you hate pineapple pizza out loud? That’s a good Italian thing to do.
@drdrang oh I still remember that group some days ago named “Spanish pronouns” where two of them weren’t pronouns. They really mess up sometimes.
@coffeegeek We spoke a week ago about waiting for the flair 58 instead of going for the new Flex, and Flair did a memorial sale with about 20% off on all machines, including the 58+ which is the first time it gets a discount. You bet I bit the bait and got it! Looking forward to testing my ability to hand pull espresso.
@coffeegeek @espresso yeah my impression is that I might regret the 100$ expense instead of waiting and going directly for the 58. Specially if I’m going to pull 1 or 2 espressos a day the higher cost of the 58 will dilute over the span of years of use.
@coffeegeek @espresso I am so tempted by that Neo Flex to try a fully manual espresso machine! It looks like this new version provides amazing value for those 100$. Still, I’m saving for the 58 because if I get into manual espresso I want the best they can offer and I feel like it’d be a waste to get now the Flex. Looking forward to your assessment!
