@freeschool Here's a video frame from a smaller log being ripped last weekend. I can grab close-ups later.
@freeschool Here are some more pics. The long rail is what's used to start the cuts. Lag bolts hold it to the log, then the mill slides down it to make a straight first cut. Then the saw rides down the log. Simple adjustment for thickness desired.
I use a ripping chain on the saw's 28" bar. Regular cross cut chains suck for milling.
@idropyou Oh this is great, more than I expected - maybe just closeup of teeth would be something but I'll boost this as I was imagining a static frame and bigger rig... this is nice. Thanks
