Took the boat out of the lake and put it in hibernation. Will see it again in April.

I am glad the shrinkwrapping skills I gained bagging sand in the sand mine as a teenager are still there. What places charge for this is just stupid.

@jerzone Can't run studs here, thankfully. But, depending on where you live and how much you drive in the warmer months, it's clear some people just opt for snow tires all the time.

I wish there was some way to avoid spending so much on salting our roads (which dumps into our waterways) and diverting that to help people run proper winter tires instead.

For those who live where it snows.... Scare yourself this Halloween. Take a look at the tires on the cars you see in parking lots; then realize the owner is going to try to get through winter on them.

Took the day off from work and spent some of it making raspberry freezer jam....then went and picked more. Getting a pint and a half every other day now from our small patch.

I've always wondered if switching to year-round school schedules across the country would help do some much needed demand management for tourist-heavy locations.

That said, I feel bad for anyone trying to live/work in a tourist trap. Having just been in Banff this summer, it was eye opening to see my impact (and we avoided the town as much as possible - just some quick groceries and laundry). No way could anyone actually live there.

Really looking forward to 98F with a 78F dewpoint and 15+ mph winds today...
