I wonder if Brandon Sanderson will end up finishing the Game of Thrones saga, as he did for Wheel of Time? George R.R. Martin is 74, and he's apparently got two books left, with the next 75% done after 12 years. It's not looking good.

@ElsaJansen@mastodon.social Mastodon does make it easy to change server, which is nice. I'm getting used to its interface, and it's really growing in me.

@ElsaJansen@mastodon.social Hopefully more centrists come across. Took me a while to find a server that had reasonable terms of service (i.e. no hate speech, but people can state unpopular opinions), and even that has made its admin something of a pariah.

@jamesmarkels Thank you! It's hard for those of us outside the US to really keep track, so we just see the clickbaity headlines. Nothing is ever that black and white, and I should have known that.

@Pallais Sure, but preventing inter-racial marriage has no basis as anything. Anti-gay marriage could at least argue that marriage is between a man and a woman as per their religious text of choice; but what possible basis is there of preventing too humans from traditionally marrying just because of an immutable physical characteristic based on the respective ancestries?

I'm finding it hard to comprehend that US pundits are concerned that their Supreme Court may strike down the protection for inter-racial marriage. I mean... what the f**k? They'd prevent people marrying, in our modern age, based upon their skin colour? That would be barbaric.

@brandonstarr Probably. :) I'll admit that as the trailer went along, I was beginning to suspect it was heavily D&D-influenced at least.
