Hay quien a base de fortalecer los músculos de la articulación en cuestión ha logrado retrasar o incluso hacer desaparecer síntomas de desgaste, artritis y similares. A la larga imagino que acabarán igual, pero mientras tanto, les vale. Tiene que ver con que cuanto más fuertes están los músculos, menos dependes del estado de las articulaciones.
La pega, claro, es que si te duele al moverlos, malamente puedes mejorar la fuerza. Imagino que ahí los ejercicios isométricos serán bastante útiles, pero no soy precisamente un experto.
Yo consultaría con un médico deportivo (en los polideportivos suelen tener uno gratis o casi).
