It's an argument not just for participation, but for ACTIVE, ONGOING participation. We cannot abdicate our responsibilities as citizens simply because we have done the lowest level of our due diligence by voting.

I don't even understand where is the need for stating a person genre in his driving license. What's the point? The only data that you need is a photo, a name, and a list of which kinds of vehicles you are authorized to drive.
Eye color? Hair color? Height? What's the point? Can't you wear colored contact lenses if you drive? Dye your hair? Wear high heeled shoes? Pointless. Genre, of course, is the same.
In Spain, none of that data is displayed in any kind of ID. Instead, we have the birth date, probably pointless, too; but at least is something that really identifies you and you can't change.

En el cine estadounidense en el presupuesto sólo se incluye lo que costó hacer la película, y en su promoción y lo que se llevan los distribuidores se suele ir otro tanto, por lo que cuando una película no hace al menos el doble de taquilla que lo que tiene de presupuesto es casi seguro que perdieron toda la diferencia.
La de 2015 fue la única película que no duplicó en taquilla su presupuesto; probablemente perdieron más 40 millones con ella. De hecho, The Hollywood Reporter estima que debieron perder entre 80 y 100.
Entre eso, y que todo el mundo acabó quemadísimo con el rodaje (por poco no pegan los actores al director), y el rotundo fracaso de crítica (triunfaron en los antioscars, no te digo más) explican que no hubiera segunda parte.
De hecho, según el director, ni siquiera está rodada entera; le cortaron por pasarse de presupuesto, la Fox no quiso el montaje original por oscuro (según el director, además faltaban escenas de la segunda mitad por rodar), y luego los productores rellenaron a base de CGI y algunos reshoots, ignorando al director por completo. El director quería básicamente una película de terror, y la productora una de los 4 Fantásticos.
No te voy a negar que tiene alguna idea interesante, pero la película es literalmente un aborto que fue estrenado para no perder todo lo invertido e, irónicamente, para mantener los derechos.
