That has to be some of the worst news I have heard in a long time. Who decided this and how can we stop them?

- Who decided that businesses need help replacing skilled workers with cheap and unreliable automation? This will just make things worse for everyone: business owners, workers, clients.
- Who argued that improving public services should be done by buying more stochastic parrots rather than by... actually investing in public services?
- Who could say with a straight face that genAI could ever be trustworthy or human-centric?

And especially, who the hell decided that we all want this slop avalanche so much that it's worth nipping in the bud all the energy consumption saving efforts that we so desperately need to tackle climate change?

Good morning. Starlink has now launched more than TEN THOUSAND satellites into orbit. Nearly 1400 have already been burned up in the atmosphere so far.

Here's a "lovely" image from my Kuiper Belt discovery program with dozens of satellite streaks in a 3 hour stacked exposure from CFHT. This was from 2022, when there were thousands fewer satellites... This is dumb.
