Europe imported a record amount of fossil gas in 2025. Trump's US now supplies 58% of the EU's #LNG (source: ACER).

Europe is handing its energy supply to Trump.

Fossil gas means dependency. Renewables mean security.

For some reason (I never change that setting) the update changed volume settings in Ubuntu for Vivaldi to zero.

Fixed.

Anyone know a criminal lawyer in the Berlin area?

My stepsons were recently robbed by some nazis and we want a lawyer present when police take their official statements.

Please RT.

Weird, tested now again; it seems to work now with Ungoogled Chromium.

So the only browser broken now is Vivaldi (regular and snapshot).

I updated monday to Ubuntu 26.04.

The audio in some of my browsers is totally broken; no audio at all. It worked nicely before the update.

Browsers affected (no audio at all): Vivaldi, Vivaldi (snapshot), Ungoogled Chromium

Browsers not affected (audio still works right): Firefox, Gnome Web, Chrome, Chromium, Tor Browser

It doesn't seem to be a packaging issue, since Chromium works in Snap and Flatpak. On the other hand, Ungoogled Chromium is a Flatpak and it doesn't work (no audio).

The original Bourne shell was written in a *very* strange style of C, which shows that even in 1979, some of the original Unix greats disdained C's famed terseness & wanted _keywords_ instead of punctuation marks.

TIL it has a name: it's known as "Bournegol".

Al final no me pude aguantar y me he actualizado.

We already produce enough for everyone on our planet to have a civilised quality of life. We only need 30% of Global productivity, Global Energy production, and Global GDP:

sciencedirect.com/science/arti

And those figures are based on the data fropm September, 2024, before the new Chinese and EU solar farms came online, and before the new automated factories came online in China. The new percentages will be a smaller slice of the overall amounts.

We already have enough Global GDP, Global Energy Production, and Global Resource Production, to produce enough for all 8 billion people on our planet. :D

We do NOT have enough for all of the billionaires...

We're running a big fundraiser for @osnews, in honour of my 21 year tenure and 20000th post! Since my wife can barely work due to health issues (caused by her work, ugh), my family has to rely on my income much more heavily. And that means OSNews donations.

We've also got a bunch of fun incentives!

To celebrate my 21 years and 20000 posts as OSNews' managing editor, it's time for a massive fundraiser: a euro for every story I've posted over the past 21 years.
