@mark The US is likely WAY behind on drones, both offensively and defensively, except for things like high altitude/long dwell time stuff like the MQ-9 Reapers. Our Navy is also way too small and has a poor mix of vessels for the type of wars of choice the US is now fighting. The M1 Abrams tanks have also not done that well in Ukraine, with almost all destroyed/captured at this point.

@mark One of the great weaknesses the US has is that we're geared towards incredible weapons systems with high unit costs and very limited production runs. We're not really geared to produce huge numbers of missiles, both offensive and defensive. We've got amazing man portable anti-vehicle systems like the Javelin, but small unit number have made it irrelevant in a conflict like Ukraine/Russia. They're using $500 FPV drones with high explosives attached to them.

The reason I joined the Android team in 2010, and that since 2008 I’ve carried Android not iOS devices, was that I could just download software. And other people could download mine.

This new process is a massive breaking of faith with the community.

To be fair, every year or two Apple ratchets up the difficulty of downloading Mac apps.

The doors on every open platform are swinging closed, fast or slow. Capitalism is broken. Another reason we need to protect the Web.
