They appear short-sighted in what Catholicism offers. OTOH, I really wonder if the institution (not the tradition) can reform itself - most vested interests and institutions cannot (which is why I'm a cynical libertarian). But its not just a matter of corruption or inequality here - its the face of true evil. The Church had better think about the long-term consequences here. (and no, this is not a time for liberals to start demanding a whole new liturgy or other radical changes that have nothing to do with the scandal).

My new home away from Twitter- its nice to login into a site that is not overly politicized.

Its not on this instance but on Mastodon.Cloud. Basically, I'm relegated to a narrow column there. Even when I unpin the columns. If I recall, all I had to do in qoto was unpin and column and it expanded automatically. This other instance does not allow that.
