@coolboymew It fucks as in “it fucks you up” or in the good way?

What happened to @mangeurdenuage? It’s been four days since he last posted something.

I may, or may not, be the only person alive (and I mean really alive) who has read Kibo’s USENET signature in its entirety, and I don’t regret missing any of the 42 minutes I wasted doing it.

@libreture book-open, maybe? A flying-book would be better suited for this, though, but heroicons doesn’t seem to have it.

@sampo Nothing says: “Capitalism is awesome!” quite like an ex-soviet Premier advertising a US fast food restaurant chain. A Finnish phone, no matter how reliable and undestructible, can’t compete with that. The media knows this and acts accordingly.

@coolboymew No, but, depending on the machine, it can be a bit uncomfortable/distressing because of the noise. Modern scanners make a softer sound (still noisy, though) and that helps a lot.

Also, if you’re claustrophobic it might not be a fun experience, because it really takes a long time (between twenty minutes and an hour, sometimes more if you move).

The nurses try to make it as comfortable an experience as possible (they give you ear plugs and a button you can push if there is any problem), but, in the end, it is what it is, a necessary evil.

@coolboymew Last time I went into one of those, I closed my eyes and concentrated on the sound. I swear I got the impression that it was an electropunk concept album about how the two nurses who attended me wanted to blow up the hospital.

I’m learning MSX-BASIC and I’m finding it so stupid and braindead that I’d much rather write in assembler.

And it’s not that I dislike assembler. I just honestly think it would be easier (both to code and debug), faster and less error-prone than BASIC.

@coolboymew To be honest, that image’s artstyle gives me the creeps, but to each their own, I guess.

I have to admit my least favourite instance is mastodon.social. There seems to be an 80-20 mix of hollier-than-thou individuals vs just nice people.

I just can’t stand the do-what-i-say attitude of most users there.

@veer66 I did it a few weeks/months ago. It’s a bit complicated (more like time-consuming, really), but doable. You need a JIT-enabled gcc, but I suppose you knew that already.

Throw your questions my way. I may be able to help for once.
