Everyone has the vague idea that cell phones made the world a dumber place, but the reasons why are usually vague. I know the reason: it's because cell phones have radically altered the bathroom.

It used to be possible to roll up a newspaper under your arm and take a one-hour shit in perfect silence. This is when people have their best ideas, the ideas that move all their other ideas forward: when you are doing one thing and that thing is nothing.

That's how it all went sideways, man. Your fuckin' phone buzzes. Is it your side hustle, or is someone spamming you to promote their side hustle? Someone's knocking at the door. Music starts playing: the woman said you were crazy for declaring the waterproof bluetooth shower speaker "an abomination before the Lord", but now she has clicked the wrong shit and some douchebags' fucking podcast about AI startups is stopping you from staring blankly at the wall in peace. An alert on the phone: overdraft fees triggered by microtransactions. The only thoughts you have had in that room for months are about which politicians to kill to bring back peaceful shits.

This is how we used to take dumps back in the day and it was FINE:

@veer66 Fundamentalist, how? You want to kill all non-Buddhists?

@veer66 Maybe you're an anarchist? Do you believe in mutual aid? Are you a pacifist? Are you a humanist (do you believe in the fundamental value of all human beings regardless of race, sex, nationality, religion or anything else)? Do you reject politics (i.e., the notion that, while politicians may set the conditions under which you live, they don't rule over you) and organised religion (as in, your moral actions are not defined by the expectation of a reward or the avoidance of a punishment)?

If so, then you're probably an anarchist.

I don't know what you're talking about, but as a fan of redheads I'm not playing that shit.

`mount -t iso9660 -o ro,loop,noauto archivo.iso /mnt/mi-iso`

`man mount` es nuestra amiga.

An anarchist is a man who is careful to always use pedestrian crossings, because he utterly detests talking with policemen.

Read this thread for an example on how a harmless gardening post can turn into a brutally racist tirade for no reason other than, you know, Texas.

@veer66 Common Lisp is like _The Godfather_ saga. It's already perfect as it is. There's no need to make it a trilogy.

@ocean It's ok. You don't really need to figure things out. You can still live on being clueless like me.

@Sentry23 “Best I can do is give you a password, so you can come back to this very point whenever you want to. Without saving your state, of course.”

Then there was _Prince of Persia_, a game you could restart from the very end, but only with a proportional fraction of time left to conclude it.

@veer66 “Did you learn or are you learning philosophy in high school?”

@mata_aimasho@the9thcircle.club Yes, there are repositories I genuinely like.

By the way, following other people is a (hopefully _the_) feature whose purpose I still don't understand.
