Consequences of #Russia attack on #Chernobyl confinement on 14 February 2025 go well beyond the hole caused “Geran-2” (“Shaheed-136”) explosion in the confinement roof. The insulation inside the roof smouldered for the last week and the temperature combined with snowfall on its surface caused the steel covering to rust. There’s also shrapnel damage to the other side of the wall. There’s no risk of radiation release as the purpose of the confinement is to provide long-term cover and prevent raising dust and leaching into the ground from rainfall.
What we’re watching here is an eternal monument to the idiocy and ostensible disrespect of Russian army to the safety of the remains of the disaster their Soviet forefathers have caused in a show of utter idiocy and disrespect to safety protocols.

Today is the 11th anniversary of #Ukraine opposition and then-president #Yanukovych signing the “Agreement on settlement of political crisis in Ukraine” following days of government “Berkut” snipers killing over a hundred of protesters. The even was the mythologised as “armed coup” by #Russia propaganda, but in reality the signing happened in a tense but peaceful atmosphere, accompanied by Western and Russian (!) ambassadors.

Согласно анализу ASTRA, с 1 января 2025 года украинские беспилотники (в некоторых случаях — ракеты) атаковали топливно-энергетические объекты как минимум в 16 регионах России. Больше всего ударов пришлось на Краснодарский край — как минимум пять атак. Под обстрелы также попали объекты в Белгородской, Тверской, Нижегородской, Смоленской, Волгоградской, Ростовской, Калужской, Саратовской, Рязанской, Орловской, Воронежской, Астраханской, Самарской, Тульской областях и Республике Татарстан.
Мы включили в анализ атаки на нефтебазы, нефтеперерабатывающие заводы, нефтеперекачивающие станции, нефтезаводы, нефтехимические заводы, линейные производственно-диспетчерские станции, кустовые базы сжиженных газов, газоперерабатывающие заводы, атомные электростанции и теплоэлектроцентрали. Материал основан на информации об атаках от собственных источников ASTRA, официальных российских и украинских лиц, а также самих предприятий. Ряд объектов за 2025 год обстреляли несколько раз — например, Рязанский НПЗ и нефтебазу в Воронежской области.
