This is a summary of the $LUNA situation for those are are crypto-deaf
@freeschool The invidious link you provided failed to provide the embed on my end
@kreyren
It comes up my end...
How about yours?
@freeschool that works, but how do you mitigate the overloading of an instance? I took down snopyta multiple times through my posts which is why i tried to use redirect.invidious.io but that doesn't do embeds
@kreyren
Right now, the achievement of not funnelling people to Google's YouTube is the main win and priority.
Try this also:
YouTube URL Converter to Invidious (No Ads + No Tracking)

Massive win by me to pull out the monetary based wins for them.
The $ource of all evils and all that:)...

Your point as a sub-consideration I think is a good point.
I usually leave for them to manage which I think they are doing quite well.
Or I do my own version and embarrass myself or embarrass others enough to realise they should have thought about it sooner!!!

Usually reasoning is what is the force here... If I have to do something or if I am stealing people's audience they usually suddenly 'have time' and find motivation to what I don't even get answered at all :) As long as it's done.... or else! :]
And people like me / you asking will help that :)
So if we use it enough / ask / show by demand it gets done.
Kudos to all.
I've included @invidious in this message for reference.
Do feel free to ask them also on Mastodon. Generally I see stuff happening after a while - don't ask me how :)
I just know once I've advertised it or even visualised it and people do it enough together, people see reasoning or get it in the end...
Link summary:
https://api.invidious.io/
http://redirect.invidious.io/
@invidious
@freeschool @invidious It's not achievement if it takes down the invidious instance and gives the user negative experience
I advice people to use libredirect instead https://github.com/libredirect/libredirect
@freeschool @invidious It's not achievement if it causes me to significantly lose reach
Fix the redirecting service to do embeds and shorten the link and i can use it instead of it
@kreyren
"Jump lots of hoops for me, do a little dance....make it the same as YouTube and then *maybe* I'll /think/ about using it... or just srug at something else... but apart from that you know I'm really thinking about my audience, more than anything else it's for them you know.
Ironic... I'm sure you can justify it. (Please don't)
It's just a joke (I'm not sure where). Maybe it's hard to measure in your matrix or guesstimations, but do you measure the losses via each click and tracking.. so who is winning more per click via someone funnelling them there who is hoping people care *after* clicking or about reaching people by playing some losing metric of pushing people these googled links often behind many things... oh man still a long way to go... I sure hope you don't underestimate each click you send there and really if you're not measuring it properly and guessing, then consider quitting the gamble. It's not worth losing any more clicks to them.
@kreyren
this is a test - to see if I or you can see it come up with just a url
